Beach Blonde, Fox Rocker, Sip Sip Hooray, Hoptopus and Slalom King are our core, flagship beers, and we make them in big batches, all year-round. But we like to experiment, too, so in addition to our 15 BBL production brewing system, we also have a smaller "pilot" setup.
On the pilot system, Ryan gets a bit more creative, brewing small-batch one-of-a-kind beers that are available exclusively here in our tap room.
Here's what's on tap right now...
|
Of course, these are in addition to our core beer line-up, which are always available in the tap room. | Dry Hopped Lager | ABV: 5.5% | | Pilsner | 36 IBUs | | Showcasing New Zealand hops, Motueka & Riwaka, our crisp, dry-hopped Pilsner features intense notes of mojito lime and lemon zest, with a hint of pink grapefruit adding to the overall hoppy character. Bitterness is subdued yet present for balance, keeping this hoppy Pilsner sessionable. A huge whirlpool hop addition makes this beer explode with both flavor and aroma. |
| Oktoberfest | ABV: 5.8% | | Fest Bier | 20 IBUs | | Here’s to the best reason to look forward to fall each year! Our traditional autumn German lager is characterized by subtle flavors of fresh baked bread, hints of honey and malt sweetness. A slight herbal hop note adds to the complexity. Prost! |
| Too Much Cologne | ABV: 5.2% | | German-Style Kölsch | 14 IBUs | | Bright, a little fruity and thirst quenching, these were the characteristics we were looking for in producing our traditional German Kölsch. Modeled after Koln, Germany’s refreshing ale, we think we knocked this beer out of the park! It is brilliantly clear with a pleasant light fruitiness greeting your nose. Flavors of fresh pear and white grape along with a hint of hop spice follow with a touch of wheat malt adding to the complexity. |
| Farmhouse | ABV: 5.1% | | Cream Ale | 15 IBUs | | Paying homage to our friends up north while trying not to copy them, Farmhouse is a cross between a classic American cream ale and a Farmhouse ale. We made this beer in collaboration with our friends at the Brat Haus in Richmond, IL to keep us Illinoisans from crossing the border to get a Wisconsin staple. While being on the drier side, the malty backbone is evident. German Lemondrop hops provide a bright citrus note in both flavor and aroma. The finish is light and fruity with a lemony kiss lingering. |
| Driftwater | ABV: 0% | | THC/CBD Seltzer | 0 IBUs | | Nothing brightens and enlightens like Driftwater -- a refreshing, THC-infused sparkling water containing 5mg of hemp-derived Delta-9 THC and 5mg CBD. Buoyed by the playful swirl of grapefruit & lemon, Driftwater embodies “no worries.” It also means no alcohol, no gluten, no calories and no caffeine. |
| Backflip | ABV: 5.2% | | Belgian-Style Wit | 14 IBUs | | Backflip is a traditional Belgian Wit (white)Bier. It's a beer that was created to celebrate the arrival of Spring and wet our whistles for a hot Summer. Given the name "Wit", this beer has a white veil of color around the edges of the glass. This is due to the use of unmalted wheat. The aroma is heavenly. Hints of coriander and orange permeate the air, while a subtle kiss of coconut and chamomile add to the complexity. |
| Sip Sip Hooray | ABV: 5.0% | | Premium Lager | 15 IBUs | | Crystal Lake Brewing and Modern Day Romeos collaborate to celebrate fest season and the midwest music scene. Live music unites us in so many positive ways and This beer is a cheers to the music lovers and music makers. Portions of every beer sold will be reinvested in local music programs. Enjoy the choice of beer for every cheers! |
| Hoptopus | ABV: 8.5% | | Imperial Hazy IPA | 30 IBUs | | As an offering to this eight-limbed denizen of the deep, we created a smooth, yet powerful, Imperial Hazy IPA. Bursting with tropical flavors and aromas, it packs a citrus punch with very little bitterness — truly a beer worthy of its namesake. Because we believe one legend deserves another. |
| Son Of A Hoptopus | ABV: 6.8% | | Hazy IPA | 20 IBUs | | The offspring of our legendary Hoptopus is a chip off the old block. Hop aromas of pineapple, guava, and melon lead the charge with bright citrus notes adding to your drinking pleasure. The aromatics glide seamlessly into the flavor of this little beast giving you a powerfully hoppy yet highly drinkable Hazy IPA. |
| Clooney's Irish Stout | ABV: 3.4% | | Irish Dry Stout | 40 IBUs | | A nod to CLB’s Irish heritage, Clooney's Irish Stout will instantly transport you to the mother country. Deep roasted malt character dances with hints of chocolate and a subtle smokiness. The finish is smooth and creamy with a touch of sweetness that gives way to the traditional dry, bitter finish. Slainte! |
| Main Beach | ABV: 5.3% | | Gluten Reduced Golden Ale | 18 IBUs | | The best attributes of the award-winning Beach Blonde shine through, but for this permanent, year-round addition to the tap room line-up, Main Beach is brewed as an Ale for just a touch of added fruity sweetness. Try a pint and we think you’ll agree, it’s sure to become a Crystal Lake institution, just like it’s namesake. |
